Metalworking

In metalworking, students work with metals such as steel, aluminum, copper, or brass in various dimensions and cross-sections. All important techniques and procedures are available. It is possible to saw, fold, drill, bend, separate, forge, rivet, or weld. After an initial project discussion, during which various possibilities for implementing a study work are discussed, students can independently realize their metalwork under further guidance from the facility's leaders.

What students should always bring new are ideas or intentions. They are the drive for the intense engagement with a material. For successful work, it's not crucial what skills in handling the material already exist, but how interested and committed the student is to seek to expand their possibilities. This results in diverse objects and artistic processes or other formative experiences evolve from approximate intentions.
